Appliance Collection London

Appliance collection London, done properly. Send us a photo, get a fixed price in minutes and we’ll carry it out and send it for licensed recycling. Any floor, 7 days a week.

Old Appliances Out, Safely Recycled

Old fridges, washing machines and cookers are heavy, awkward and can’t go in your normal bin. Fridges and freezers also contain gases that have to be removed at a specialist plant, so they need to go to the right place. Most of our appliance collection London jobs start with a new appliance arriving and the old one still in the kitchen.

Send us a photo on WhatsApp or through the quote form and tell us the floor and postcode. We reply with one fixed price, usually within minutes, and we can often collect the same day or the next morning, 7 days a week.

Once it’s switched off and unplugged, our team does the rest. We carry it out from wherever it is, protect your floors and door frames, and take it to a licensed WEEE recycler. You get a waste transfer note for every collection.

How To Get Rid Of Old Appliances In London

The main options, and when each one works best.

Retailer take-back

When you buy a new appliance, the shop has to help you get rid of the old one of the same type. Some collect it on delivery, usually for a fee, and others ask you to drop it off.

Council collection

Most London councils collect fridges and large electricals, and some offer it free or at a low cost. You put the item outside on the day and wait for the next free slot.

Your local recycling centre

London reuse and recycling centres take fridges, washing machines and small electricals from residents, usually free. You’ll need a vehicle and help to lift it.

A licensed collection service

The easiest option. We collect from inside your home at a time that suits you, often the same day, and take it straight to a licensed recycler.

Whoever you use, check they’re a licensed waste carrier. If an appliance is fly-tipped, the person who handed it over can be fined. Read more in our guides: Can I take my old fridge to the tip? and How to get rid of an old washing machine.

Licensed Appliance Recycling

Old appliances are classed as WEEE, waste electrical and electronic equipment, and UK rules say they must be recycled at an approved treatment facility, not sent to landfill. Fridges and freezers go to specialist plants where the refrigerant gases and the gases in the insulation foam are captured safely. The steel, copper, plastic and glass from every appliance are then separated and recycled.

Waste Collectors is a registered waste carrier with the Environment Agency, and you can check our licence on the public register. Every appliance collection comes with a waste transfer note, so you know exactly where it went.
